http://yeeyeefood.blogspot.com/2010/02/penang-trip-day-3.html

This round, I went to Penang with my best friend during my birthday,
In this blog, I will not repeat the same tourist attractions because has already introduced it,
let's find some new things~~

Talk about Penang, most of the tourist will think of Rojak (salad), Asam Laksa (Some kind of noodle with Tuna Fish), Mee Rebus, Fried oyster and etc~

But did anyone think of Wantan, Dumpling???
Let's see:-

Wantan, inside the wantan is not only meat or prawn, but BOTH!!!!

Can you see the filings of dumpling?????

Don't think it just like that, its really nice,
because my friend introduce a lot of friend to try here,
and all give very good comment on it...

The price is reasonable, but the actual price I am not very sure since we pay all together~

Where is it actually???

Yes, is from this stall 【高佬(冯记)港式云吞面】of the shop below...

From this shop Yi Garden Cafe (怡园茶室)...

Yes, the outlook of the shop doesn't attract people to go in to try,
but if you are here, no harm to try right???

Walk down the same road of the above cafe,
you will found another nice food...

Don't trust me??
Let's see what mean by crowded??

This is during 4pm, off peak hour (not lunch and dinner time), but still a lot of people wait for a seat to try for the nice fried keoy teow~

What stall it is actually??

It is a stall of 2 sisters, famous fried keoy teow from this stall and this shop~

The sisters none stop fried the koay teow for their customers~

And this shop is HENG HUAT CAFE (兴发茶室)~~

Fried Koay Teow that makes many people waiting for it~~

Next, have to bring my friend to some other nice food as introduced in Keat Seng Cafe (吉成茶室):

Authentic Teochew Style Kway Chap~~

 Braise duck porridge~~

 Roast Pork Rice~

Braise Duck~~

During the 3 days in Penang,
First day use to sleep since everyone working, need to recharge before start our journey at Penang..
(I know its quite a waste to sleep at Penang Hotel, but what to do?? rest is for us to go further...
Further to that, behind our hotel is beach~~ why don't just enjoy the relaxing trip??)

Of course 3 days we are not just eat this, but some other things is not so special, that why I am not going to introduce the others food here..

Comment: The tart and milk tea here is nice however the waiter and waitress here is not friendly at all~ (I am sorry to say that, but they will scold customer when they are slow to pay the bill)

Next, 金马伦咖啡店, its not Cameron in Malaysia, but it is a cafe.

学生包 (sorry, no english translation for this),鸡尾包 (cocktail bun)

Due to we are very hungry, so coconut milk pudding has finished before photo taking ^^

Comment: Nothing special with the 2 buns, but coconut milk pudding is so refreshing~

Lunch time, Travel guide has directed me to this restaurant:

皇冠小馆~

竹升虾子捞面(Shrimp noodle), 花蟹粥(crab porridge)

Comment: According to travel guide, this restaurant is a must try restaurant. For the shrimp noodle, sorry to say that I don't really like shrimp therefore it don't really suit me, however the crab porridge I like it very very much, it not just yummy, but it full of crab meat in the porridge, the porridge taste nice even without soy sauce and pepper.

Its time to buy some souvenir for family and friends,

This shop is very famous, it always full of tourist,
while buying souvenir, saw Portuguese egg tart again,
so no harm to try it ^^

Opps, its time to check out..
Check out doesn't mean have to go airport...
We went to MGM Hotel to see the butterfly exhibition..

*The Magic of Butterfly Reinvention boasts an array of visual surprises which includes the Butterfly Pavillion, Giant Pinwheel Trees and Willow-Vine Sculptures, this harmonious combination of nature and technology offers an exceptional experience*

Curry fish ball, shark fin (which is not real shark fin), chicken stick

and where all theses from???

Don't be surprise, our breakfast is really from 7-eleven..

Comment: It is surprisingly yummy~

Tired?? Never mind, continue after having tea break in Mcdonald..

Walk along Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro (新马路),
you will found all the food in travel guide>>>>

a shop which don't really look nice, but it is very crowded, just because of famous in the food below:-

红豆双皮奶(red bean stewed milk beancurd), 炖蛋 (egg custard), 火腿蛋治 (ham and egg sandwich), 菠萝包(pineapple bun)

Comment:I like egg custard and pineapple bun very much, but I don't really like red bean stewed milk beancurd since I don't really like milk.

Next, Institute of Civic and Municipal Affairs

*Originally built in 1784, this was first Macau municipal chamber, a function it maintains to the present. The name "Leal Senado" derives from the title "City of Our Name of God Macau, There is None More Loyal" which was bestowed by Portuguese King Dom John IV in 1654. The "Leal Senado" Building is neo-classical in design and has retained all its original master walls and primary layout, including the courtyard garden in the back. Inside the building on the first floor there is a ceremonial meeting room that opens onto an elaborate carved library styled after the library of Mafra Covent in Portugal, and a small chapel.*

Walk along Senado Square and found this which look nice...

金钱饼~(I don't know what it call in english, but it is a type of biscuit)

Comment: Nice to eat as snack~~

Then, St Dominic's Church

*Founded in 1587 by three Spanish Dominican priests who originally came from Acapulco in Mexico, this church is also connected to the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Rosary. It was here that the first Portuguese newspaper was published on Chinese soil, A Abelha da China ("The China Bee"), on 12th September 1822. The bell tower, at the back of the building, has been modified into a small museum of Scared Art, now exhibiting a collection of around 300 artifacts.*

Why stop eating???

 猪扒包(pork chop bun)

Comment:  Nothing special, nothing to comment ^^

Reached the landmark of Macau: Ruins of St Paul's (大三巴牌坊)~

*The Ruins of St Paul's refer to the facade of what was originally the Church of Mater Dei built in 1602-1640, destroyed by fire in 1835, and the ruins of St Paul's College, which stood adjacent to the Church. As a whole, the old church of Mater Dei, St Paul's College and Mount Fortress were all Jesuit constructions and formed what can be perceived as the "Acropolis" of Macau. Close by, the archaeological remains of the old College of St Paul stand witness to what was the first western-style university in the Far East, with an elaborate academic programme. Nowadays, the facade of the Ruins of St Paul's functions symbolically as an altar to the city.*

Just next to the landmark, Macau Museum and Monte Fort...

Comment: Crowded, tired to walk up the staircase~ but actually nothing surprise here..

Lunch???

猪骨粥(porridge cooked by pork rib), 云吞面 (wantan mee)

Comment: The porridge is nice, but wantan mee is almost same with wantan mee in Malaysia

 咖喱鱼旦 (curry fishball)

Comment: Quite spicy but it is yummy~

Last but not least,
鸡蛋仔(egg puffs)

Comment: Its something new, I have never try before, can have a try on this~

It is 24th Macau International Fireworks Display Contest, start at 8:00pm

This is just from 2 countries where each country have 15 minutes fireworks display

Finished fireworks display for the day already 10:20pm,
start feel hungry,
On the way to hotel, we found this~~~

荣记牛杂 (Wing Kee Beef Offal) which has 70 years history~

Comment: Many people don't really like beef offal, but the sauce of this shop is very nice, and the soup with the mee, its really delicious, it sauce not only for beef offal, it also for other ingredient such as fish ball, sausage and so on~ I will strongly recommend to have a try on this...

After a long and tiring day, is time to sleep~
the next day will be the day back to Malaysia,
but before depart, we still have some time to enjoy our last day in Macau~
